This weekend, we had part II of our daughter’s birthday party.  It was a beautiful day!  The weather was perfect (mid-70’s) and the location (Hermann Park, Houston, TX) was sensational.  My daughter showed the one tooth she has in her mouth ALL DAY LONG.  Sometimes it was because she was cranky from skipping her nap.  Thankfully, most times it was because she was excited by all the attention and new toys.

We took LOTS of pictures.  The one above happens to be my absolute favorite of the day and I think it was the last one taken.   With so many absentee (aka “deadbeat”) dads today, it takes my breath away anytime I see a dad spending time with his children.

Since I am a mom, I certainly don’t want our very important role to be belittled or under-appreciated.  I just want to take a moment to appreciate all the dads who are active in their childrens’ lives.  It’s such a beautiful thing!
